Indoor playgrounds are the best place to be — for kids, that is. They get to see different play equipment for them to have fun with all day long. Ranging from ball pits and slides to role playing and socializing, indoor playgrounds have it all for kids. However, kids and parents are not the only ones in the playground, germs are also lurking around. The fun should not stop anytime soon. That is why as a business owner, you should maintain cleanliness inside the playground.
Having a dirty and contaminated playground that causes diseases in children will eventually lead to your indoor playground being declared as unsafe or for your customers to not come back. In order to properly maintain your indoor play area and provide a safe environment for kids, parents, staff, and yourself, here are tips for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene for indoor playgrounds.
Place Hand Sanitizers in the Play Area
First and foremost, cleanliness starts from oneself. In order to achieve this, the indoor playground should be able to install hand sanitizers in places often used by different walks of life. A majority of communicable diseases are often transmitted and spread through the touch. Before opening your play area, make sure you have placed a number of hand sanitizer dispensers.
On the other hand, parents should also educate their kids to frequently use the hand sanitizer dispensers before play to prevent the spreading and acquiring of communicable diseases. However, if the kids touched greasy or dirty surfaces that left marks on their hands, hand washing with water and soap is still the best option. Parents should also remind their children the wash their hands after bathroom breaks to be squeaky clean after.
Clean Playground Surfaces
This is a must and should be done every night after closing for the day. Staff should be able to clean and sanitize every nook, every corner, and every place a child might crawl on, walk on, grab and hold on, pull on, or any surface a toddler may have contact with. Make sure to watch out for railings, handles, ladders, inside and outside of tubes, monkey bars, rope swings, floor mats. Safety is essential since this is the secret to establishing trust with families who will let their children play in your play area. Once they let their kids step on your play area’s mat, they trust that your play area will not harm their children in any way.
Communicable diseases can easily spread once the area is unmaintained and dirty. That is why, as an indoor playground owner, you should make sure that your indoor playground equipment is clean and sanitized every night and place sanitizers around the play area to prevent the spread of such diseases. But, before anything else, you should also make sure your equipment is safe and durable.
